Shipping & Arrival

To make the shipping process to and from Verizon Center as smooth as possible, the following procedures will be implemented. Shipping, arrival, layover stabling and feed and bedding information is included below.

ARRIVALS & SHIPPING

• All vehicles bringing horses to Verizon Center are required to come to Prince George’s Equestrian Center as a preliminary staging point.
• All horses will be shipped to and from PG Equestrian Center by Johnson Horse Transportation, the official shipper of the Washington International. WIHS personnel will be at the PG Equestrian Center to coordinate this process.
• A round-trip transportation charge of $150 will be placed on each horse’s invoice. This charge includes a stall for any short-term waiting period at PG Equestrian Center.
• Layover stabling ($200 per week if paid with acceptance; $250 if paid later), camper spaces ($300 per week) and parking for trucks and trailers (no charge) are available at the PG Equestrian Center. YOU MUST INDICATE THE DATE YOU WILL BE ARRIVING at the PG Equestrian Center for layover stabling on the acceptance invoice. Failure to do so may result in no available layover stabling or a higher cost being incurred.
• All Open Jumper horses must be on the grounds of the PG Equestrian Center by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. All horses, along with passports and proper credentials, must be presented at that time for Official Horse Inspections. Horses will then be shipped by Official Shipper to Verizon Center between 5:00-8:00 PM. Stabling will be available at PG Equestrian Center.
• All WIHS Equitation horses must be at the PG Equestrian Center by 3:00 PM on Thursday Oct. 22, and will be shipped to Verizon Center between 3:00-7:00 PM.
• All WIHS Equitation ponies must be at the PG Equestrian Center by 3:00 PM on Friday Oct. 23, and will be shipped to Verizon Center between 3:00-7:00 PM.

When you arrive at Prince George's Equestrian Center, please check in with the stabling/shipping office to schedule your horse’s shipping to Verizon Center.

Below is a schedule for the shipping of horses to / from Verizon Center. Please be aware that arriving at Verizon Center without checking in first at PG Equestrian Center will result in horses and equipment NOT being allowed to unload and being sent back to the PG Equestrian Center.

LAYOVER STABLING

Layover stabling will be available beginning on October 11 at PG Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD. The fees are as follows:

• Layover stall – Week 1 / Oct. 11-17 = $200 per stall
• Layover stall – Week 2 / Oct. 18-25 = $200 per stall

Stall fees will not be pro-rated. Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, WIHS stabling personnel can be reached at 202-560-0964 for further information.

You must indicate the date you will be srriving at PG Equestrian Center for layover stabling on the acceptance invoice. Failure to do so may result in no available stabling or a higher cost being incurred.

FEED & BEDDING

• PG Equestrian Center: beginning Monday, Oct. 5, WIHS stabling personnel can be reached at 202-560-0964 for feed and bedding orders.
• Verizon Center: beginning Friday, Oct. 16, WIHS stabling personnel can be reached at 317-443-5853 for feed and bedding orders.
