The Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) needs your help! We are looking
for horse enthusiasts who are interested in volunteering. Join the WIHS Volunteer
Team and help us help the WIHS become bigger and better.
Running any horse show is a daunting task but indoor shows at such facilities
as the Verizon Center in Washington DC create an additional challenge. The
costs for the WIHS to take place at the Verizon Center are quite high. Since
the facility is not a horse show grounds they have to create the mini horse
show city by bringing in dirt, putting up temporary stalls, closing off streets
and transporting the horses in from the PG Equestrian Center, among numerous
other things. In order for the WIHS to continue to be successful, it is
necessary for spectators to fill the seats; for media, both local and national,
to write about the event; and for individuals, businesses and services to
benefit by becoming WIHS sponsors. So, that is where we need a team of
volunteers to help.
Help the WIHS by joining Team WIHS! We need volunteers to help with the following projects:
- Ask your group/organization to send us their mailing list
- Place posters in appropriate locations to advertise the Show
- Distribute brochures prior to the Show
- Bring your friends, family and members of your organization to Barn Night
- Alert us of any businesses or services who are interested in maximizing their exposure by becoming a WIHS sponsor
- Helping out at the WIHS: in the press room, distributing information, handing out prizes, etc.
- Spread the word about the WIHS at meetings, horse shows, etc.
So, put on your thinking cap and get in touch. We‘d like you on the WIHS Volunteer team!
