History was made during the 49th annual Washington International Horse as the
President’s Cup Grand Prix was officially renamed the Gerald R. Ford President’s
Cup Grand Prix at the Verizon Center on October 13, 2007.
The WIHS was honored to have Susan Ford Bales in attendance to bestow this honor
in memory of her father.
Following the class, Ms. Ford Bales presented The President of the United
States Perpetual Cup to Jill Henselwood who piloted her mount, Black Ice,
to victory.
